Bühler Denmark A/S and Business Unit (BU) Biscuit are part of the Grains & Food Division of the Bühler Group. The BU has 191 employees in total, with HQ in Skovlunde/Copenhagen and a Manufacturing Site in Rødkærsbro (63 employees). In Rødkærsbro, we are developing a future manufacturing site to serve a global customer base. The BU acts as an independent manufacturer and distributor of baking machinery.

The position

We are seeking a dynamic Manufacturing and Logistics Controller to oversee the financial management of our production facility within the Biscuit Business Unit. This pivotal role will be based in Rødkærsbro.

Our site is known for making top-quality industrial baking ovens that we ship worldwide.

As the Manufacturing and Logistics Controller, you will be instrumental in establishing and managing the facility’s financial control systems in alignment with our group standards under the guidance of the Head of Manufacturing.

Our production site is undergoing a significant transformation, with substantial upgrades scheduled in the coming months. These enhancements include:

  • Centralizing production within a single facility.
  • Implementing a streamlined production workflow.
  • Constructing a modern office designed to foster synergy and innovation.

By the end of 2024, we expect these new elements to become fully integrated and functional.

Furthermore, on January 1, 2025, the Bühler Group is set to launch our updated group ERP system (SAP S4/Hana), marking a full integration of the Business Unit into the corporate structure. Your immediate involvement in this transition will be critical, as the role of the Manufacturing and Logistics Controller is central to the formulation of our manufacturing processes.

This role demands cross-functional and regular collaboration with our Head of Manufacturing, the Rødkærsbro Site Manager, our Industrial Engineering team, the Finance Controlling unit based in Skovlunde, and Bühler Group’s HQ’ Corporate Factory Controlling division.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct budgeting activities, including hourly rate setup and cost center planning, in partnership with the Head of Manufacturing and Logistics, the Finance Department at Skovlunde, and the corporate manufacturing group at Headquarters.
  • Oversee factory-level project costs, provide insightful analyses, and deliver evaluations to the Head of Manufacturing and project control teams.
  • Facilitate the determination of standard pricing for components and assist the industrial engineering team with “make or buy” decisions.
  • Participate in monthly financial closings, collaborating closely with the Finance Department Corporate Factory Controlling and the Head of Manufacturing. Conduct monthly actual reporting analysis, including deviations; provide weekly and monthly forecasts of workload and results; and participate in monthly and year-end closings.
  • Define, implement, and track efficiency measures; calculate and monitor product costs; and support the cost center with all financial issues.
  • Serve as an interface to the local CFO and Corporate Factory Controlling in headquarters and perform ad hoc analysis and reports on demand.

The ideal candidate

The ideal candidate has experience in financial analysis and factory control, a strong understanding of production planning, logistics, and inventory, and a passion for working closely with production and the different stakeholders in a matrix organization.
The ideal candidate is generally good at interpreting financial data in detail, e.g., understanding the components of product costs and identifying contributing factors impacting financial performance.

Candidate qualifications

  • Relevant educational background, Bachelor’s or master’s, or similar education.
  • Background in controlling from a producing company, ideally machine building industry.
  • Good knowledge of the controlling processes in the manufacturing area.
  • Experience in working in multi-cultural teams throughout the world establishing good relationships.
  • Excellent software skills (SAP, MS Excel, Databases, etc.).
  • SAP experience and comfortable extracting and analyzing data out of SAP.
  • Very good written and spoken English skills (other languages German as an advantage).
  • Strong affinity for numbers and understanding of the correlation and interaction of the different influencing parameters in a factory.
  • Ability to understand and explain commercial correlations to the factory organization and the business partners.
  • Highly analytical, structured, and networked thinking.
  • Focused on results and drives changes.
  • Service-oriented team player with good communication skills.
  • Pro-active and attention to detail and quality.
