Our client

NACOS Marine is a globally integrated group of companies at the forefront of maritime automation, navigation, and control systems. Building on decades of expertise and a heritage of trusted solutions, NACOS Marine continues to pioneer technologies that set the standard for safer, smarter, and more efficient ship operations worldwide.

With over 500 employees worldwide and a strong presence in Denmark through NACOS Lyngsø Marine A/S, the company combines decades of experience with renewed investment and strategic focus.

Based in Hørsholm and employing approximately 80 specialists, NACOS Lyngsø Marine plays a central role in developing future-ready solutions for safer and smarter ship operations.

To support our R&D journey, we are seeking a Senior Automation Engineer. This role comes at a time when Lyngsø’s strong heritage in ship automation is being combined with NACOS Marine’s focus on delivering modern, integrated solutions for the maritime industry.

The role

As our new Senior Automation Engineer, you will design, develop, and implement automation solutions within the NACOS Automation portfolio. The role spans from R&D activities and close collaboration with engine manufacturers on new engine projects, to hands-on support and troubleshooting on vessels in operation, including longstanding systems that have been in service for decades. You will ensure that automation solutions integrate seamlessly with large marine engines and power management systems while remaining reliable and future-ready.

Your tasks will range from developing new automation platforms to troubleshooting and making adjustments on vessels in operation, while also contributing to international projects, including newbuild activities.

A significant part of the role encompasses both new development and the long-term support of existing systems, where maintenance will remain essential for years to come. You will work with advanced PLC programming, system integration, and test activities, from building environments and writing specifications to executing validation to ensuring our solutions deliver reliable performance and meet international type approval standards.

You will be part of our Automation R&D team in Hørsholm and work closely with colleagues across NACOS Marine’s international setup. Collaboration will be key – both internally with Product Management, Navigation R&D, Service, and Field Engineering, and externally with engine manufacturers, shipyards, classification societies, and customers worldwide – to deliver automation systems that meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and long-term reliability at sea.

The vision is to ensure the NACOS Automation product portfolio is:
