The Hardware Director role
The Director of Hardware at Pascal A/S leads the hardware organization and holds overall technical ownership of Pascal’s hardware platforms, defining and executing the company’s hardware strategy. The Director of Hardware works closely with the Senior Director of Technology Management, who holds responsibility for the hardware technology roadmap and architectures. This role is pivotal in building a scalable, flexible and structured hardware setup within Pascal’s R&D organization, combining internal expertise with selected external key partners.
The Director will spearhead a development model that leverages both in-house capabilities and external partners to accelerate innovation, increase capacity, and strengthen Pascal’s competitive position in the Professional Audio market.
As a key member of the R&D Management Team, the Director ensures that Pascal’s platform-based amplifier solutions remain cutting-edge, high-performance, and reliable, aligned with the company’s technology roadmap and business objectives.
The position is based at our HQ in Herlev.
Strategic Leadership
- Define and implement a scalable hardware development strategy.
- Drive the transition from a fully internal development approach to a balanced, partnership-based model for scalability and agility.
- Contribute to Pascal’s technology roadmap and ensure alignment with corporate and product objectives.’
- Represent the hardware domain in senior leadership and cross-functional strategic planning.
Operational Management
- Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of hardware projects across power electronics, digital/mixed-signal electronics, and mechanical domains.
- Act as the Project Lead Engineer within Pascal’s project model, accountable for hardware plans, risks, and deliverables in major development projects.
- Establish and manage a matrix setup that enables cross-functional collaboration between hardware, software, and product development.
- Develop robust processes for vendor management, and external collaboration.
- Ensure on-time, on-budget delivery of high-quality hardware solutions, including responsibility for necessary concept and feasibility activities before design commitment.
- Maintain and evolve best practices, tools, and documentation standards for hardware development.
Team Development & Culture
- Lead, mentor, and develop a multidisciplinary team of hardware engineers.
- Introduce and anchor structure, methods, and decision processes in the hardware team to improve execution and decision-making.
- Foster a culture of innovation, technical excellence, and continuous learning.
- Build a collaborative environment that bridges internal and external contributors into one unified engineering ecosystem.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Product Management and Technology Management to define hardware requirements and align the roadmap with market and business needs.
- Collaborate closely with QA, Software, and NPI teams to ensure seamless integration and system-level performance.
- Work with external partners, suppliers, and technology collaborators to enhance capacity, speed, and innovation.

- Continue the development of the hardware platforms.
- Defined and execute hardware strategy and roadmap aligned with Pascal’s long-term goals.
- A clear and implemented hardware partner/ strategy aligned with the technology roadmap and market needs.
- Delivery of innovative, high-performance, and reliable hardware solutions.
- Continuous improvement in tools, processes, and quality standards.
- A motivated, high-performing, and collaborative hardware organization.
Mandate & Authority
- Full ownership of Pascal’s hardware strategy and operational setup.
- Authority to approve within Pascal’s Delegation of Authority (DOA).
- Influence over resource allocation, project prioritization, and technology decisions in close cooperation with technology management.
- Responsibility for shaping and maintaining external partnerships and vendor collaborations.
- Acts as Project Lead Engineer in key development projects within Pascal’s project model.
Qualifications & Experience
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Hardware, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering (master’s preferred).
Experience:
- Strong electronics/hardware background, enabling credible technical sparring with engineers.
- Solid experience in hardware product development of complete physical products (including both electronics and mechanics).
- End-to-end ownership of hardware development from concept to mass production.
- Proven technical leadership of multidisciplinary hardware teams (products including electronics and mechanics) in larger development projects.
- Experienced in planning and structuring hardware development, incl. clear decision-making.
- Experience managing external partners and suppliers.
- Experience with platform and system architectures across power, digital electronics, software, and mechanics.
- Industry experience from audio, amplifiers, or related high-tech electronics is a strong plus.
Skills & Competencies:
- • Strong leadership in ownership of hardware product development as part of projects.
- Solid system-level understanding of hardware, including the interplay between power, digital electronics, software, and mechanics.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and decision-making skills, with the ability to balance structure and agility.
- Proven ability to build and maintain effective collaboration with internal engineering teams and external development partners.
