About Doral Europe
Doral Europe is part of Doral Group, a leading Independent Power Producer (IPP) that develops, constructs, and operates renewable energy projects across Europe, including solar, storage, and onshore wind.
Doral Europe follows a long-term business model, raising institutional capital, developing and building projects, and retaining ownership throughout the projects’ operational lifetimes.
Doral Group
Doral Group was founded in 2007 and is listed on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange. Doral Group is an international renewable energy company active in Israel, the United States, and Europe. The company has a strong track record of large-scale solar and storage projects, including a flagship 1.6 GW project in Indiana, USA. The company is also advancing biogas and green hydrogen production and investing in innovative energy solutions through its venture arm, Doral Energy Tech Ventures.
Expanding in Denmark
Doral Energy has decided to scale up its activities in Denmark and hire a Business Development Director. The foundation is already in place; their first Danish project, M110 in Urup, Jutland, is a 60 MW solar park built in partnership with GreenGo Energy, and a pipeline of further Danish projects totalling approximately 300 MW is under development.
For the Business Development Director, it is a unique opportunity to build and grow a Danish operation, backed by an internationally well-established energy company.
About the Role
As the Business Development Director, you will be Doral Energy’s first permanent employee in Denmark, responsible for establishing the Danish branch from the ground up with full commercial and operational ownership. You will, from day one, manage relations with GreenGo Energy and new JV partners, coordinate with authorities, DSOs, and municipalities, and drive the progression of an active project pipeline. Headcount will be increased progressively in line with project needs.
Role and responsibilities
- Pipeline & Partnerships: Drive and mature the existing project pipeline, including the GreenGo partnership, while identifying and securing new JV partnerships and Ready-To-Build acquisition opportunities in the Danish market.
- Stakeholder & Regulatory Engagement: Represent Doral across key stakeholders, including authorities, municipalities, banks, and partners, and navigate regulatory and grid processes related to onshore renewable projects.
- Branch Building & Leadership: Establish the Danish operation, including setting up the Copenhagen office, defining ways of working, and onboarding key hires, such as a project manager.
- Autonomous Commercial Leadership: Operate independently with full ownership of priorities and decisions, while coordinating with senior leadership and building toward a self-sustaining Danish business.
Construction & Operational Oversight: Facilitate communication between Doral Europe and local contractors during construction, oversee site visits, and ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards. The role requires regular travel within Denmark and active representation of Doral in the Danish renewable energy community through industry events, trade associations, and sector forums.
Ideal candidate profile
- Experience with onshore wind and/or solar PV development in Denmark, with a strong understanding of the Danish energy market, including Energinet processes, permitting, and the full development value chain.
- Strong stakeholder and partner management skills, with a proven track record in building, negotiating, and managing JV partnerships and development pipelines.
- Well-established Danish network across ministries, municipalities, and the broader renewable energy ecosystem.
- Commercial and business development mindset, able to identify new opportunities, build partnerships, and scale the Danish operation.
- Self-driven and independent, with the ability to operate in close coordination with Doral Europe.
- Charismatic and credible communicator, able to represent Doral Europe externally and build trust with stakeholders.
- Culturally adaptable, comfortable working in an international, fast-paced environment where local market insight is key.
- Fluent in Danish and English — both written and spoken.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in project development and renewable energy.
- Minimum a bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, Environmental Studies, or a related field.
